Steps:
- Heat oven to 350ºF.
- Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Microwave butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until melted. Add dry cake mix, 1 egg and cinnamon; beat with mixer until blended. Press 2/3 of the dough onto bottom of prepared pan.
- Beat cream cheese and sugar with mixer until blended. Add remaining egg; mix well. Spread over crust; top with fruit. Pinch small pieces of remaining dough between your fingers; press lightly into cream cheese layer.
- Bake 45 to 50 min. or until center is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate 1 hour. Use foil handles to lift dessert from pan before cutting into bars.

Original recipe is a twist on my Mom's version. Fast and easy dessert, great for fall season when apples are freshest and the cranberries come in. I have made it without the apples or using frozen cranberries. I enjoy it as a dessert and as a breakfast treat around the Thanks-Mas season. Loaded with antioxidants! I have also made a wheat-free version using nut flour. Serve plain or topped with ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of heavy cream.

- In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda; cut in 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside 2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumbs into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Arrange apples over top; set aside. , In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, vanilla and remaining butter. Bring to a boil. Steps:
- Put the cranberries and apples in a large mixing bowl; stir to combine.
- Stir in the sugar, lemon juice, and flour; set aside for 10 minutes.
- Scrape the filling into the chilled pie crust; smooth the top with your hands.
- Place pie on the center rack of a 400° oven; bake for 30 minutes.
- While the pie is baking, make the topping--in a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon; add in the butter and rub it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs; refrigerate until ready to use.
- Take the pie out of the oven and lower oven temperature to 375°.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping over the filling and press gently to compact.
- Return pie to oven--rotate pie so that the part that faced the back of the oven now faces the front (put a foil-lined baking sheet onto the rack below to catch any spills).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the juices bubble thickly aroung the edge.
- Put pie on a wire rack to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.

- Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- In 4-quart saucepan, mix cranberries, granulated sugar, orange peel and orange juice. Heat to boiling over high heat, stirring constantly. Cook over high heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until cranberries pop and lose their round shape and mixture thickens. Stir in apple butter and 2 tablespoons butter; remove from heat.
- In large bowl, beat 3/4 cup butter and the brown sugar with electric mixer on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, until fluffy. Stir in flour, salt, baking soda and oats. Press 3 cups oat mixture in pan.
- Spread cranberry filling over base. Crumble remaining 2 cups oat mixture over filling; press lightly.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows.
