Time 2h35m

Yield two 12-inch pizzas

Number Of Ingredients 17

1 1/3 cups (173 grams) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
2/3 cup (86 grams) whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
1 cup (236 milliliters) lukewarm water
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 medium shallot, thinly sliced
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn
2 handfuls fresh spinach
6 ounces thick-cut (3/8-inch) sliced ham, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
6 ounces rainbow fingerling potatoes, thinly sliced (1/8- to 1/16-inch-thick)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Crushed red pepper flakes, for sprinkling
Grated Parmesan, for sprinkling
Handful chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • For the dough: Combine the flours, salt, sugar and yeast in a medium bowl. Mix in the water until combined. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 1/2 hours or up to overnight.
  • Position a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 475 degrees F.
  • Cut out 2 big sheets of parchment paper, and dust liberally with flour. Divide the dough into two pieces, and place each on a piece of parchment. The dough will be very sticky, so don't be shy in dusting it with enough flour as needed to handle it. Roll out on the parchment until the dough is very thin and about 12 inches in diameter, dusting with flour as needed.
  • For the toppings: Brush each round with 1 tablespoon olive oil and top them with the garlic, shallot, mozzarella, spinach and ham. Toss the potatoes with the remaining tablespoon olive oil in a medium bowl and distribute the potatoes over the pizzas in a single layer, not allowing the potatoes to overlap. Sprinkle everything with a good pinch of salt and a few turns of pepper.
  • Using a pizza peel or baking sheet, slide one of the pizzas on its parchment onto the pizza stone and bake until the cheese is splotchy with brown marks and the potatoes are browned, about 12 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with crushed red pepper, Parmesan and parsley. Repeat with the remaining pizza, and enjoy!

In this article, we will provide you with some valuable tips on how to make a delicious apple cheddar spinach pizza wham ribbons recipe.

Choose Quality Ingredients

The quality of your ingredients will determine the overall taste of your dish. When making an apple cheddar spinach pizza wham ribbons recipe, make sure that you choose high-quality ingredients. Use fresh spinach, crisp apples and sharp cheddar cheese. When buying ingredients, consider purchasing organic produce to ensure that you have a healthier and tastier dish.

Prepare the Dough

Preparing the pizza dough is an important aspect of making an apple cheddar spinach pizza wham ribbons recipe. You can either make your own pizza dough or buy pre-made dough. If you decide to make your own dough, make sure that you follow the recipe instructions carefully. Knead the dough until it becomes soft and smooth.
Roll the Dough to the Right Thickness
When rolling the dough, it is important to roll it to the right thickness. If the dough is too thin, it will become crunchy when baked, while if it is too thick, it will not cook properly. The ideal thickness for the dough should be around 1/4 inch. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to the desired thickness.

Preheat the Oven

Before baking your apple cheddar spinach pizza wham ribbons, make sure that you preheat the oven to the recommended temperature. This is important because it ensures that the pizza cooks evenly and properly. The ideal temperature for baking a pizza is around 450°F.
Use a Pizza Stone or Baking Sheet
When baking a pizza, it is important to use a pizza stone or baking sheet. A pizza stone is preferred because it absorbs moisture from the dough, ensuring that your pizza crust comes out crisp and chewy. If you do not have a pizza stone, you can use a baking sheet, but make sure that it is preheated before placing the dough on it.

Slice the Apples Thinly

When adding apples to your pizza, it is important to slice them thinly. This not only makes it easier to cook, but it also ensures that the apple slices cook evenly. Use a mandolin or sharp knife to slice the apples into thin slices.
Precook the Spinach
To ensure that the spinach is cooked properly, it is important to precook it before adding it to the pizza. This also helps to remove excess moisture from the spinach, preventing the pizza from becoming soggy. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan, then add the spinach and cook for about 3 minutes until wilted.

Add the Cheese Carefully

When adding the cheese to your pizza, it is important to do it carefully. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the pizza, making sure that it covers the pizza dough. Use a good quality sharp cheddar cheese, as it provides a bold and tangy flavor to your pizza.
Combine the Wham Ribbons with the Apples
Wham ribbons are a fantastic addition to any apple cheddar spinach pizza recipe. To make the ribbon, use a vegetable peeler to slice thin, long strips of zucchini or squash. Combine the wham ribbons with the apple slices and distribute it evenly over the pizza. This adds extra flavor and a crunchy texture to your pizza.

Bake the Pizza to Perfection

The final step is baking the pizza to perfection. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown on the edges, and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.
Add Fresh Herbs and Spices
To add extra flavor and color to the pizza, you can sprinkle some fresh herbs and spices over the top before baking. Some popular choices include oregano, basil, thyme and red pepper flakes. This helps to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients and adds a delicious fragrance to your pizza.

Conclusion

Making a delicious apple cheddar spinach pizza wham ribbons recipe is easier than you think. By following these valuable tips and tricks, you can create a mouth-watering dish that your family and friends will love. Remember to choose quality ingredients, prepare the dough correctly, slice the apples thinly, precook the spinach, add the cheese carefully, and bake the pizza to perfection.
