Crust
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup sliced almonds, toasted
6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons golden brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling
1 1/2 7-ounce packages almond paste, crumbled
3 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
6 tablespoons sugar
4 large eggs
Apples
4 large Jonagold apples (about 2 1/2 pounds), peeled, cored, cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • For crust:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter 10-inch-diameter springform pan. Wrap bottom with 2 layers of heavy-duty foil. Mix all ingredients in medium bowl to blend, crumbling almonds slightly. Press mixture onto bottom and 1 inch up sides of pan. Bake until set, about 7 minutes. Maintain oven temperature.
  • For filling:
  • Combine almond paste, cream cheese, and sugar in processor; blend until smooth, occasionally scraping down sides of bowl, about 2 minutes. Mix in eggs until just blended. Pour filling into crust. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325°F and bake until center is set and top appears dry, about 45 minutes longer. Cool. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate overnight. (Can be prepared 2 days ahead. Keep refrigerated.)
  • For apples:
  • Toss apple slices with lemon juice in large bowl. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in heavy large skillet over high heat. Add apples and sauté until golden and tender, stirring frequently, about 9 minutes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir to coat. Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Stir until coated and glazed. Cool slightly.
  • Run small sharp knife around edge of pan to loosen cheesecake. Release pan sides. Arrange apples (warm or room temperature) in concentric circles atop cheesecake. Brush apples with any juices left in skillet. Cut into wedges and serve.

This mouth-watering dessert has become a favorite for many people around the world due to its unique blend of flavors and textures that create a delightful experience for your taste buds.

The Ingredients

To make an apple almond cheesecake, you need a few essential ingredients that come together to create a delicious treat. The main elements include:
Cream Cheese
The base of any cheesecake is the cream cheese. It provides the creamy texture and rich flavor that are essential to this dessert.
Sugar
You need sugar to sweeten the cheesecake, so it is not too tart. The quantity of sugar you use depends on your preference and the type of apples you use.
Egg
To make the cheesecake filling perfect, you need to add an egg to the mix. The egg helps bind the ingredients together, and it also aids in setting the cheesecake as it bakes.
Almonds
Adding almonds to apple cheesecake gives the dessert a crunchy texture and a slightly nutty taste.
Apples
Apples are an essential ingredient that adds natural sweetness and allows you to experience different textures in each bite.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is an aromatic spice that adds warmth and depth of flavor to apple almond cheesecake.

The Process

Making apple almond cheesecake can be broken down into three steps:
Step 1: Make the Cheesecake Filling
Add cream cheese to a bowl and beat with an electric mixer until it is smooth. Gradually add sugar, making sure to beat well after each addition until it is well combined. Add an egg to the mixture and beat on low speed until everything is mixed properly.
Step 2: Prepare Apples and Almonds
Wash and peel the apples before coring and chopping them into small pieces. In a separate bowl, chop almonds into small pieces using a knife. Add a pinch of cinnamon to the almond mixture.
Step 3: Assemble and Bake
Preheat your oven to 350F. Grease a 9-inch pie pan before spreading 1/3 of the cheesecake mixture on it evenly. Add half of the chopped apples and almonds over the top of the cheesecake. Repeat the process of adding layers of cheesecake and apples and almonds mixture two more times, making sure to end with a layer of apples and almonds. Bake your apple almond cheesecake for 35-40 minutes or until it is light golden brown. Remove from the oven, let it cool, and serve.

Conclusion

The combination of apples, almonds, and creamy cheesecake filling is irresistible, making it a favorite among many people. The ingredients and preparation process are simple, and the result is an impressive dessert that will leave your taste buds wanting more.

Valuable Tips When Making Apple Almond Cheesecake Recipes

Cheesecake is one of the most popular desserts in the world. It is a perfect combination of creamy, sweet, and tangy flavors that can satisfy any sweet tooth. Apple almond cheesecake is a twist on the classic cheesecake, adding a nutty and fruity flavor to the mix. Here are some valuable tips to keep in mind when making apple almond cheesecake recipes.
1. Use High-quality Ingredients
The key to a delicious apple almond cheesecake is to use high-quality ingredients. Cheesecake is a simple dessert that requires only a few basic ingredients – cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. When choosing these ingredients, make sure to go for high-quality options. Choose cream cheese that is of good quality and has a high fat content. You can use full-fat cream cheese, which has around 33% fat, or even double cream cheese, which has around 48% fat. Eggs are another crucial ingredient, so use fresh eggs to ensure a creamy texture. Also, use good quality vanilla extract for a rich flavor.
2. Use the Right Pan
Another important factor to consider when making apple almond cheesecake is the pan. A springform pan is the best choice for cheesecake, as it has a removable bottom that makes it easy to remove the cheesecake from the pan. Make sure the pan is well-greased to avoid any sticking. You can use a 9-inch springform pan or a smaller one if you prefer a thicker cheesecake. Make sure the pan is deep enough to allow for the cheesecake to rise without spilling over. Also, line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to prevent the cheesecake from sticking.
3. Add Some Texture
Apple almond cheesecake is known for its unique flavor and texture. You can add some texture to your cheesecake by adding chopped almonds or walnuts to the crust. This will give your cheesecake a nutty flavor that complements the creaminess of the cheesecake. You can also add some chopped apples to the cheesecake filling to give it a fruity flavor. Make sure the apples are diced into small pieces so that they blend into the cheesecake filling nicely.
4. Experiment with Spices
Spices are another essential ingredient when making apple almond cheesecake. You can add cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice to your cheesecake filling to give it a warm and comforting flavor. These spices will also complement the flavor of the apples and nuts. Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices to create a unique flavor profile. Try adding some ginger, cloves, or cardamom to your cheesecake filling for a spice-filled twist.
5. Bake Slowly and Low
When it comes to baking apple almond cheesecake, slow and low is the way to go. Cheesecake is a delicate dessert that requires a slow bake to ensure a smooth, creamy texture. Bake your cheesecake at a low temperature of around 325-350°F for 40-50 minutes. Avoid overbaking your cheesecake, as this can cause cracking and drying out. Check the cheesecake regularly during the baking process to ensure that the edges are not overcooked. The cheesecake is done when the edges are set and the center is still slightly jiggly.
6. Chill and Decorate
After baking, let your apple almond cheesecake cool completely before chilling in the fridge. Chilling the cheesecake will help set the texture and make it easier to slice. Leave the cheesecake in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving. When it comes to decorating your cheesecake, you can get creative. You can top your cheesecake with a layer of apple pie filling or caramel sauce for an extra sweet twist. Sprinkle some chopped almonds or walnuts on top for a crunchy texture.

Conclusion

Apple almond cheesecake is a delicious and unique dessert that is perfect for any occasion. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that your cheesecake turns out perfectly creamy, nutty, and sweet. Remember to use high-quality ingredients, the right pan, add texture, experiment with spices, bake slowly and low, and chill before decorating. Enjoy!
