Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
12 ounces dry angel hair pasta
3 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for tossing the pasta
One 28-ounce can whole plum tomatoes
6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
4 anchovy fillets
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup roughly chopped pitted black olives
3 tablespoons drained jarred capers
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Grated Parmesan, for serving

Angel hair puttanesca with chicken is a perfect dish for seafood and chicken lovers. The flavor of the dish is derived from the combination of different ingredients, including olives, capers, anchovies, and tomatoes. If you are looking for a quick and easy meal to prepare, this recipe may be the perfect fit for you. Here are some valuable tips to help you make the best angel hair puttanesca with chicken recipe.

Choose the right chicken

When making angel hair puttanesca with chicken, it's important to select the right type of chicken. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts work best as they can be cooked quickly and easily. You can also use chicken thighs if you prefer a meatier taste. Make sure the chicken is properly trimmed and cleaned before cooking to ensure a healthy meal.

Prepare the pasta correctly

Angel hair pasta is the preferred option for this dish. It's essential to cook the pasta until it's al dente or firm to the bite. This ensures that the pasta remains firm and doesn't get mushy when combining it with the sauce. Before cooking the pasta, add a pinch of salt and some oil to the water to help prevent it from sticking together.

Don't overcook the chicken

When cooking the chicken, it's important not to overcook it as it may become dry and tasteless. To get a juicy chicken, cook it for 6-8 minutes on each side on medium heat. You can also use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken, which should be 165°F.

Use fresh and high-quality ingredients

The main ingredients of this dish are olives, capers, anchovies, tomatoes, and garlic. It's suggested to use fresh ingredients and high-quality tomatoes for the best flavor. Diced canned tomatoes can also be used if fresh ones are unavailable. The olives and capers should be pitted and rinsed before adding to the sauce.

Prepare the sauce perfectly

The sauce for the angel hair puttanesca with chicken is crucial, and its taste and texture depend on how it's prepared. To ensure the best flavor, it's recommended to sauté the garlic and chili flakes in olive oil for a few minutes before adding the olives, anchovies, and capers. Cook them together for another few minutes before adding the tomatoes. Let the sauce simmer for around 15 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Combine the pasta and chicken with the sauce

Once the pasta and chicken are cooked, it's time to combine them with the sauce. Mix the pasta with the sauce in a large pot or pan and toss them together. Then, place the chicken breasts on top of the pasta and sauce mixture. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the flavors are combined and the chicken is cooked perfectly.

Garnish the dish with fresh herbs

Angel hair puttanesca with chicken is delicious on its own, but the taste can be enhanced by adding fresh herbs such as basil or parsley. You can chop the herbs finely and sprinkle them over the pasta and chicken before serving. This adds a dash of freshness and flavor to the dish.

Conclusion

Angel hair puttanesca with chicken is a tasty and easy-to-make dish that's perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can achieve the best flavor and texture in your dish. Always remember to use good quality and fresh ingredients and cook your chicken and pasta correctly to get a perfect meal every time.
