The pasta is then tossed with the vegetable mixture and finished with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

The Ingredients

Angel Hair Pasta
Angel hair pasta is a type of long, thin pasta that is similar to spaghetti. It is made from durum wheat semolina, which gives it a delicate texture and a mild flavor. Angel hair pasta is perfect for quick and easy dishes as it cooks in just a few minutes.
Prosciutto
Prosciutto is a type of Italian ham that is made from the hind leg of a pig. It has a unique salty, savory flavor that pairs well with pasta dishes. For this recipe, prosciutto is sautéed until it becomes crispy, adding a delicious texture to the dish.
Peas
Fresh peas are the perfect addition to this dish, bringing a sweet, earthy flavor to the dish. The peas add a pop of color and texture that complements the pasta and prosciutto.
Garlic

Salt and Black Pepper
Salt and black pepper are used to season the dish, bringing out the flavors of the pasta, prosciutto, and peas.
Parmesan Cheese
Parmesan cheese is added to the dish at the end, giving it a rich, nutty flavor. It is grated on top of the pasta and vegetables, and the heat from the pasta helps the cheese melt and coat the dish.

The Cooking Method

Step 1: Cook the Pasta
The first step in making angel hair pasta with prosciutto and peas is to cook the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the angel hair pasta. Cook the pasta for 2-3 minutes or until it is al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.

In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for a few seconds until fragrant. Add the chopped prosciutto and cook for 2-3 minutes or until it becomes crispy.
Step 3: Add the Peas

Angel hair pasta with prosciutto and peas is a delicious and satisfying dish that can be prepared in a matter of minutes. Whether you are a novice cook or an experienced chef, there are several tips that can help you create the perfect dish.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Pasta

Angel hair pasta, also known as capellini, is a thin pasta that cooks quickly and is perfect for light, delicate sauces. When selecting angel hair pasta, look for a high-quality brand that is made from durum wheat semolina. This will ensure that your pasta has a firm texture and doesn't become mushy when cooked.

Tip 2: Cook the Pasta Properly

Cooking the pasta properly is crucial to the success of your dish. Follow these tips to ensure that your angel hair pasta is cooked perfectly: • Use a large pot of salted water to cook the pasta. The salt will add flavor to the pasta and help prevent it from sticking together. • Bring the water to a rolling boil before adding the pasta. Add the pasta and stir to prevent it from sticking together. • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, typically 2-3 minutes. • Drain the pasta in a colander and rinse it with cold water to stop the cooking process.

Tip 3: Prep the Prosciutto and Peas

When preparing the prosciutto and peas, it's important to pay attention to the details. Follow these tips to ensure that your ingredients are prepped properly: • Cut the prosciutto into thin strips. The prosciutto will cook quickly, so it's important to cut it into small pieces so it doesn't overpower the dish. • Use fresh or frozen peas. If using fresh peas, blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes before cooking them with the prosciutto. • If using frozen peas, thaw them before cooking. This will help them cook more evenly.

Tip 4: Cook the Prosciutto and Peas

Cooking the prosciutto and peas is an important step in creating the perfect dish. Follow these tips for cooking your ingredients: • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and swirl to coat the pan. • Add the prosciutto strips to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until crispy. • Add the peas to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are tender. • Add a splash of white wine to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Tip 5: Combine Ingredients and Serve

The final step is to combine the pasta and the prosciutto and peas in a large bowl. Follow these tips for combining the ingredients: • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the prosciutto and peas. Toss to combine. • Add a splash of olive oil or a pat of butter to the pasta and toss to coat. • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. • Serve immediately, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.

Conclusion

Angel hair pasta with prosciutto and peas is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. By following these tips, you can create a flavorful and satisfying dish that will impress your guests and leave them asking for seconds.
