Time 10h15m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound ground beef
1 small sweet onion (finely diced)
1 green pepper (seeded and finely diced, optional)
2 teaspoons minced garlic (jarred or fresh)
24 ounces pasta sauce (I like Rao's Roasted Garlic Sauce)
8 ounce can tomato sauce
15 ounce can petite diced tomatoes)
1 cup water
1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 cup macaroni noodles

Steps:

  • Brown and crumble ground beef along with diced onions and pepper in a large skillet. Cook until meat is fully cooked and onions and peppers are softened. Drain excess grease. Note: Many slow cookers have a sauté option. Please feel free to use this option on your slow cooker for less dirty dishes.
  • Add ground beef mixture into a 4-6 quart slow cooker.
  • Stir in garlic, pasta sauce, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, Italian seasoning and sugar. (DO NOT ADD MACARONI NOODLES YET)
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for about 2-4 hours. Everything is already cooked so we're basically just letting everything simmer and for the flavors to come together.
  • During the last hour of cooking, add in the macaroni noodles and stir. Cover again. Cook until noodles are al dente (or softer if you prefer).
  • Then serve! We enjoy eating this with some fresh garlic bread and a salad.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 cups water
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika (I always use half Hungarian and half reg)
4 ounces tomato sauce (1/2 small 8 oz can)
14 1/2 ounces beef broth (1 can)
3/4 cup corn (1/2 can drained)
2 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

2 -3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sour cream
salt or pepper
elbow macaroni (cooked, drained, buttered)

  • Cook macaroni, drain and add oil and butter to keep from sticking.
  • When about ready to serve, add 1/4 cup of sour cream and simmer.
  • **I know some people do not prefer sour cream---but this amount will only add to the creaminess and help to balance the taste, otherwise it may be too thin. Add slightly less if there is a concern and you will not know that sour cream is added!**.

Making AMS crock pot beef goulash stew recipes is a fantastic way to enjoy a hearty and flavorful meal with little effort. However, creating the perfect goulash stew can be challenging, especially if you are new to cooking. From choosing the right ingredients to preparing and cooking them, there are many factors to consider. This article will provide valuable tips to help you make the best AMS crock pot beef goulash stew recipes possible.

Tips for choosing the right ingredients

When it comes to creating the perfect goulash stew, choosing the right ingredients is crucial. Here are a few tips to help guide you:
1. Choose the right cut of beef
Choosing the right cut of beef is essential to ensure that your goulash stew is tender and flavorful. Look for beef cuts that have a lot of marbling, such as chuck or round cuts. These cuts have more connective tissues, which break down during the cooking process, resulting in tender and juicy beef.
2. Pick the right vegetables
When it comes to selecting vegetables for your goulash stew, it's best to choose vegetables that are hearty and can stand up to long hours of cooking. Some good options include potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions. These vegetables will add flavor, texture, and color to your stew.
3. Use the right type of tomato product
Using the right type of tomato product is vital to creating the perfect goulash stew. For a deep, rich flavor, use tomato paste or canned tomatoes that have been crushed or pureed. These types of tomato products will give your stew a robust flavor and a rich, thick texture.

Tips for preparing your ingredients

Preparing your ingredients before cooking is key to creating a delicious and flavorful goulash stew. Here are a few tips to help you prepare, cook, and serve your stew:
1. Brown the beef
Browning the beef before cooking it in the crockpot will help to seal in the flavor and juices while cooking. Additionally, browning the beef will give your goulash stew a rich, caramelized flavor that is hard to resist.
2. Chop your vegetables evenly
Chop your vegetables evenly to ensure that they cook uniformly in the crockpot. Try to keep the pieces of vegetables relatively small to ensure that they cook through and become tender.
3. Add in the right seasonings
Adding the right combination of seasonings is vital to creating a flavorful goulash stew. Consider using spices like paprika, cumin, oregano, and garlic powder to give your stew a robust and smoky flavor.

Tips for cooking your goulash stew in the crockpot

Once your ingredients are prepped and ready to go, it's time to start cooking. Cooking your goulash stew in the crockpot is a convenient and straightforward way to make this delicious dish. Here are several tips to help guide you through the crockpot cooking process:
1. Don't overfill your crockpot
It's essential to make sure that you don't overfill your crockpot. Leave some space at the top so that the heat can circulate evenly and the steam can escape. Overfilling your crockpot can lead to uneven cooking, which can affect the flavor and texture of your goulash stew.
2. Cook on low heat for an extended period
Goulash stew is best cooked on low heat for an extended period. This will allow the ingredients to cook gradually, resulting in a tender and succulent stew. Try to cook your stew for at least six hours on low heat to ensure that everything is adequately cooked and tender.
3. Stir occasionally
Stirring your goulash stew occasionally will help to distribute the flavors evenly throughout the dish. It will also help to prevent the ingredients from sticking to the bottom of the crockpot. Try to stir your stew every couple of hours to ensure that everything is cooking evenly.

Conclusion

Making the perfect goulash stew can be challenging, but with the right ingredients, preparation, and cooking techniques, you can create a flavorful and hearty meal that your family will love. Remember to choose the right cut of beef, chop your vegetables evenly, add in the right seasonings, and cook on low heat for an extended period. With these tips, you'll be on your way to making the best AMS crock pot beef goulash stew recipes possible.
