I found this recipe on FB as posted by Emily Berkman. This is quickly becoming a favorite of ours. If this has been posted before I'm sorry to duplicate, but I couldn't find it. I'm sure this could also be made more healthy by using low-fat mayo and sour cream.....There is a picture on FB, but I'm having a hard time trying to...

Tip #1: Choose fresh and organic ingredients

The first step to making the perfect Amish broccoli cauliflower salad is to choose fresh and organic ingredients. Start by selecting the best-quality broccoli and cauliflower from your local grocery store or farmer's market. Look for tightly packed florets with no brown spots or yellowing. The fresher the vegetables, the crunchier and tastier your salad will be.

Tip #2: Blanch your vegetables

Blanching broccoli and cauliflower helps to preserve their crispness and color. It also makes the vegetables more digestible. To blanch your vegetables, bring a pot of water to boil and cook the broccoli and cauliflower for about 3-4 minutes until they turn bright green. Then immediately transfer them into a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process.

Tip #3: Add in extra toppings

To add more flavor and texture to your Amish broccoli cauliflower salad, consider adding extra toppings such as bacon, cheese, nuts, and dried fruits. These toppings will enhance the flavors of the vegetables, making the salad more interesting and appetizing. You can also use different types of cheese such as feta, goat or cheddar, depending on your preferences.

Tip #4: Don't forget the dressing

The dressing is a crucial component of Amish broccoli cauliflower salad. The right dressing will bring together all the flavors and textures of the salad, making it a tasty and satisfying dish. You can opt for a tangy vinaigrette or a creamy dressing to suit your taste buds.

Tip #5: Chill the salad

Chilling Amish broccoli cauliflower salad before serving enhances its flavors and makes it more refreshing. After you have mixed the vegetables, toppings and dressing, allow the salad to chill for at least an hour before serving. Chilling the salad will also help it to stay fresh for longer if you are preparing it for a party or a potluck.

The best thing about Amish broccoli cauliflower salad is that you can experiment with different variations to create unique flavors. You can add sliced cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, or sliced apples to the salad to give it a different twist.
