Categories     Main Course

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/4 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp
12 oz dry angel hair pasta
3 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp unsalted butter
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 cloves garlic (, minced)
1 1/2 tsp lemon zest
3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in salted water according to directions listed on package (keep in mind it will only take about 4 minutes so I recommend adding the pasta to water when you begin cooking the shrimp), reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive and butter over medium-high heat. Add shrimp (you can remove tails first if desired), season with salt and pepper and saute 2 minutes, then add garlic and saute until shrimp has cooked through, about 2 minutes longer.
  • Toss drained pasta in with shrimp along with 1/3 cup reserved pasta water, lemon zest and lemon juice. Add more water 1 Tbsp at a time as needed. Toss in 2 Tbsp of each parsley and basil, then sprinkle top with parmesan cheese and remaining 1 Tbsp of each parsley and basil. Serve warm.

Amazing Shrimp and Hot Italian Sausage over Angel Hair Pasta image

This is a great one dish meal with an Italian accent. The Shrimp and Hot Italian Sausage are accented with a Garlic Cream Sause.

Provided by aeb8889

Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 30m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb raw shrimp (shell off and deviened)
1 lb hot Italian sausage (I buy mine at the Italian Market)
5 -6 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
fresh rosemary, to taste
1 quart heavy cream
3 bunches green onions
3 tablespoons flour, for thickening
1/2 cup water
parmesan cheese
romano cheese

Steps:

  • Remove Italian Sausage from caseing. In an electric skillet or on top of the stove, brown very slowly the Italian sausage, the objective here is to brown it slow enough to allow the fat to run off into the skillet, add salt, pepper and press garlic, to the Italian Sausage once is has cooked.
  • While Sausage is cooking chop tops of green onions and set aside.
  • Mix water and flour together, make sure it is not lumpy and set aside.
  • Add shelled and deveined shrimp to sausage , allow to cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add Heavy Cream to Shrimp and Sausage, enough to cover over about an inch and a half, increase heat slightly, add water and flour mixture to thicken. Simmer to desired thickness. (Do not over cook shrimp).
  • Sauce should be the consistancy of alfredo sauce and light pink in color (from the sausage fat). Serve over fresh Angel Hair Pasta tossed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Add fresh chopped green onion tops, Rosemary, Fresh Fancy Grated Parmesean and Ramano Cheese -- enjoy.

Shrimp and hot Italian sausage over angel hair pasta is a delicious and filling meal that can be prepared with ease. This dish is perfect for when you want to cook something quick, but also want to impress your guests or family. In this article, we will provide you with some valuable tips to make an amazing shrimp and hot Italian sausage over angel hair pasta recipe that you and those around you will love. Tip 1: Use Fresh Ingredients Using fresh ingredients is essential to ensure that your dish has the best flavor and texture. Fresh shrimp, hot Italian sausage, and angel hair pasta will make your dish stand out. When shopping for ingredients, make sure to check the expiration dates and choose only the freshest ingredients available. This will help to bring out the best qualities of each ingredient and make your dish truly amazing. Tip 2: Season Your Ingredients Well Proper seasoning is the key to elevating the flavor of any dish, and this recipe is no exception. To season your ingredients well, start with salt and pepper. It's essential to add seasoning throughout the cooking process, so your food is well seasoned from top to bottom. For the hot Italian sausage, additional seasonings such as paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder can do wonders to enhance its flavor further. Tip 3: Cook the Shrimp Perfectly Shrimp cook relatively fast, and if not cooked correctly, they can be rubbery and tough. The key to cooking shrimp perfectly is to sauté them quickly over high heat. This will help to maintain their texture. If you cook them for too long, they will become tough and tasteless. To avoid this, wait until the pan is very hot, add the shrimp, and cook them quickly for about two to three minutes or until they turn pink. Tip 4: Cook the Angel Hair Pasta Perfectly Angel hair pasta is incredibly delicate and cooks quickly. Overcooking it will make the pasta mushy and lacking in texture. To avoid this, cook the pasta al dente, which means "to the tooth" in Italian. Al dente pasta has a firmness that is perfect for absorbing sauce and holding together other ingredients. Cook the angel hair pasta in boiling salted water for two to three minutes, or until it's tender but still firm. Tip 5: Add Flavor with a Delicious Sauce A good sauce can take any dish from dull to delicious. In this recipe, you can use either a tomato-based or a cream-based sauce. A tomato-based sauce is perfect if you want to add a bit of tanginess to your dish, while a cream-based sauce can make your dish more rich and indulgent. To make a tomato-based sauce, sauté onions and garlic until they are soft, and then add a can of crushed tomatoes, season the sauce well, and let it simmer for a few minutes. For a cream-based sauce, start by making a roux with butter and flour, add heavy cream or milk, and stir until the sauce is thick and creamy. Add some grated Parmesan cheese to make your sauce even more flavorful. Tip 6: Add Vegetables for Extra Nutrition Adding vegetables to your dish can add extra nutrition while also bringing a pop of color and flavor. You can add vegetables such as bell peppers, spinach, and cherry tomatoes. Sauté the vegetables separately and add them to the pasta at the end. This will ensure that they retain their crunch and flavor, and do not become overcooked. Tip 7: Garnish Like a Pro A well-garnished dish not only looks beautiful but also invites you to try it. Garnish your shrimp and hot Italian sausage over angel hair pasta with some fresh herbs such as parsley or basil. Serve with a wedge of lemon on the side, which adds freshness and zing. Conclusion Shrimp and hot Italian sausage over angel hair pasta is a delicious and hearty meal that is perfect for any occasion. In this article, we have shared valuable tips to help you make this recipe amazing. Remember to use fresh ingredients, season well, cook the shrimp and pasta perfectly, add flavor with a delicious sauce, add vegetables for extra nutrition, and garnish like a pro.
