AMAZING HOMEMADE PIZZA ROLLS!

Amazing Homemade Pizza Rolls! image

My DH loves those frozen Tony's Pizza Rolls....I'll eat them too, but....what exactly is in them?? We probably don't want to even know! These are MUCH better and at least we know what we're eating!! Buy extra sauce for dipping if you'd like, but they really don't need it. Also, add/omit any ingredients you like or don't like. Make them to your own taste of course. This is what we like in them.

Pizza rolls are a great snack that is loved by almost everyone. These rolls are made up of a delicious combination of sauce, cheese, and your choice of toppings wrapped in a pizza dough. They are convenient and easy to make, and you can customize them according to your taste. In this article, we will provide you with some valuable tips on how to make amazing homemade pizza rolls.

1. Plan out the Ingredients

Before you start making your pizza rolls, you need to plan out the ingredients you are going to use. The toppings can be anything from mushrooms, peppers, onions, bacon, and sausage to chicken or even shrimp. Make sure that each ingredient is cooked or baked, and you have sauces and cheese readily available.

2. Make the Pizza Dough

The dough is the foundation of your pizza rolls, so it’s important to make sure that it’s perfect. You can opt for store-bought pizza dough, which is only a few dollars, or you can make it yourself with flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and water. When making pizza dough, it's essential to knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic. If you're short on time, do not hesitate to use store-bought pizza dough.

3. Roll your Dough

Once you have your dough, it's time to roll it. Roll the dough into a thin oval or rectangle, making sure the surface on which you’re rolling the dough is dusted with flour to prevent sticking. You can use a rolling pin or your hands to stretch the dough, but make sure that the dough is thin and even throughout.

4. Add Toppings

When adding toppings, spread sauce on the dough evenly, leaving about half an inch on the edges. Add your toppings and sprinkle the cheese on top. Make sure the toppings you add are evenly distributed, and there are no gaps or empty spaces.

5. Roll it up

When you’re done adding toppings, roll up the dough tightly, starting from the side closest to you. Make sure to tuck and roll the dough tightly, so that the filling doesn't spill out when baking. Once you have rolled up the pizza dough, cut it into equal-sized pieces.

6. Brush with Egg Wash

For a golden-brown crust, a light egg wash is perfect. Beat an egg in a bowl with a dash of water and brush the top of the pizza rolls.

7. Preheat the Oven

Make sure to preheat your oven to 400°F before baking the pizza rolls. This will ensure that the oven is the perfect temperature and the pizza rolls will get evenly cooked.

8. Bake

Bake the pizza rolls for 15-20 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown. Make sure that the pizza rolls are completely cooked and that the cheese is melted.

9. Let it cool and serve

Once the pizza rolls are ready, let them cool for a few minutes before serving. This will help set the filling and prevent burns. Serve it with your favorite sauce or dip.

10. Experiment

One of the best things about making pizza rolls is the freedom to experiment with different flavors and fillings. Don’t hesitate to mix and match various ingredients to create your own unique recipe.
Conclusion
Homemade pizza rolls are simple to make, and they are a perfect snack for any occasion. However, to make sure that your pizza rolls are perfect, it's important to follow the tips listed above. With these tips, you can make the perfect pizza rolls every time, and your friends and family will love them.
