2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup amaretto
1/3 cup slivered almonds
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 to 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
2 to 3 tablespoons amaretto

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each., Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk and amaretto, beating well after each addition. Stir in almonds. , Fill paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full.
