IMPOSSIBLE ALMOND JOY PIE

Impossible Almond Joy Pie image

Why have just one candy bar when you can have a whole pie? With coconut, almonds and chocolate, this Impossible Almond Joy Pie recipe from Anne Colagioia is a true delight. This decadent pie uses gluten free Bisquick to make preparations even easier. Since this pie recipe has no crust, simply mix, dump and bake until completion.

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
4 eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups milk
1/2 cup Bisquick
6 ounces sweetened shredded coconut, about 2 cups loosely packed
1/2 cup chopped almonds
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips, chopped
TO GARNISH:
2 ounces chocolate chips, about 1/3 cup
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 ounce almonds, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (or 175 degrees C) and grease a 10 inch deep dish pie plate with nonstick cooking spray. Place the pie dish onto a foil lined baking sheet in case anything spills over during baking.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, eggs, butter and vanilla until well combined.
  • Add the milk and Bisquick and continue whisking until well incorporated.
  • Stir in the coconut, chocolate chips, and almonds and carefully pour the batter into the prepared pie dish. The batter will come up almost to the top of the pan so be careful as you walk it over to the oven.
  • Bake it for 55 minutes to 1 hour then remove it from the oven and allow it to cool.
  • To garnish the pie, in a small microwave safe bowl combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream and microwave on high for 30 seconds then remove the bowl and stir the chocolate and cream together until very well combined and smooth. Drizzle the chocolate all over the top then scatter over the chopped almonds. The pie can be served at room temperature or chilled.

In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips that you should follow when making Almond Joy pie recipes.

Tips for making Almond Joy Pie Recipes

Tip 1: Use quality ingredients
When making Almond Joy pie recipes, it’s important to use high-quality ingredients. This means using real butter, fresh coconut, and good quality chocolate. Using fresh ingredients will ensure that the pie is delicious, and the flavors will blend perfectly.
Tip 2: Chill the ingredients
Before making an Almond Joy pie, make sure that your ingredients are chilled for a few hours. This includes the butter, coconut, and chocolate. Chilling your ingredients will help the pie to set correctly, and it will be easier to handle.
Tip 3: Use a pie dish with a removable bottom
Using a pie dish with a removable bottom will make it easier for you to remove the pie after it has set. This will prevent the pie from breaking when you try to remove it from the dish.
Tip 4: Let the pie set for at least 4 hours
After you have assembled the pie, let it set in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. This will give the ingredients time to set and blend together.
Tip 5: Toast the coconut and almonds
For a more flavorful pie, toast the coconut and almonds before adding them to the filling. This will bring out the nutty flavor in the almonds, and the coconut will be crunchy and flavorful.
Tip 6: Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate
When making the chocolate filling for your Almond Joy pie, use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. This will prevent the chocolate from burning or seizing, which can ruin the flavor and texture of the pie.
Tip 7: Don’t over-mix the filling
When making the filling for your Almond Joy pie, be careful not to over-mix it. Over-mixing can cause the filling to become too dense and heavy. Mix the filling just enough to combine all the ingredients.
Tip 8: Use a piping bag to add the filling
Using a piping bag to add the filling to your Almond Joy pie will make it easier to create a smooth and even layer. This will also prevent the filling from getting stuck in the corners of the pie dish.
Tip 9: Garnish with extra coconut and almonds
To give your Almond Joy pie a more festive look, garnish it with extra coconut and almonds. This will also add extra flavor and texture to the pie.
Tip 10: Serve with whipped cream
To make your Almond Joy pie even more delicious, serve it with a dollop of whipped cream. This will add a light and creamy texture to the pie and will make it even more irresistible.

Conclusion

In conclusion, making an Almond Joy pie recipe is easy if you follow these valuable tips. Always remember to use quality ingredients, chill the ingredients, use a pie dish with a removable bottom, let the pie set for at least 4 hours, toast the coconut and almonds, use a double boiler to melt the chocolate, don’t over-mix the filling, use a piping bag to add the filling, garnish with extra coconut and almonds, and serve with whipped cream.
