AIR-FRYER ALMOND CHICKEN

Air-Fryer Almond Chicken image

My husband bought an air fryer oven about six months ago, after seeing it on television. We have used it at least twice a week and love how delicious the food has been. The chicken recipes that we have tried are especially good because of how moist it remains. We started a low-carb diet and did not want to use bread crumbs so we tried the chicken with almonds and it is a favorite now.

Almond chicken with asparagus is a delightful dish that is easy to make and provides a healthy and delicious meal. The dish is a combination of chicken fillets, almonds, asparagus and a variety of other ingredients that create a flavorful and robust taste. This article will provide valuable tips to help you make the perfect almond chicken with asparagus.

Tip 1: Selecting the right chicken fillets

When making almond chicken with asparagus, you need to ensure that you use the right chicken fillets. The ideal chicken fillets should be boneless, skinless and trimmed of excess fat. You can use chicken breasts or chicken tenderloins for this recipe. Chicken tenderloins are more tender and delicate than chicken breasts, making them ideal for this recipe.

Tip 2: Proper seasoning

Seasoning is an essential part of any recipe. When making almond chicken with asparagus, you need to ensure that you season the chicken fillets before cooking them. You can use a variety of spices and herbs to season the chicken, such as garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Seasoning your chicken fillets will ensure that they are flavorful and delicious.

Tip 3: Preparing the asparagus

The asparagus is a crucial component of the dish, and you need to ensure that it is prepared correctly. Start by washing the asparagus in cold water and trimming off the woody ends. Once you have done that, blanch the asparagus in salted boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, depending on their thickness. Immediately drain the asparagus and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process. This step will ensure that the asparagus is tender and not overcooked.

Tip 4: Toasting the almonds

Toasting the almonds is a crucial step in making almond chicken with asparagus. The almonds add a nice crunch and nutty flavor to the dish. To toast the almonds, you can either use an oven or a stovetop. If you are using an oven, spread the almonds on a baking sheet and bake them at 350°F for about 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown. If you are using a stovetop, heat a dry skillet over medium heat and add the almonds. Toss them frequently until they are golden brown.

Tip 5: Cooking the chicken fillets

When cooking the chicken fillets, you need to ensure that you do not overcook them. Overcooking the chicken fillets will result in dry and tough chicken. To cook the chicken fillets, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add some oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken fillets and cook them for about 4-5 minutes per side until they are golden brown and cooked through. You can also use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken fillets are fully cooked. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165°F.

Tip 6: Making the sauce

The sauce is what brings the dish together and adds an extra layer of flavor. To make the sauce, you will need chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and cornstarch. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl except for the cornstarch. Once the ingredients are combined, pour the mixture into the same pan used to cook the chicken fillets, and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked chicken fillets, asparagus, and toasted almonds, and toss everything together.

Tip 7: Serving the dish

Almond chicken with asparagus is a dish that is easy to serve. You can plate the dish by arranging the chicken fillets on a bed of asparagus and topping it off with the toasted almonds. You can also garnish the dish with some fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro, to add some color and freshness.

Conclusion

Almond chicken with asparagus is a delicious and healthy recipe that you can easily make at home. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that your dish is flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked. With the right ingredients, seasoning, and cooking techniques, you can create a dish that your family and friends will love.
