This is a New Year's Eve tradition for my husband and I. It's an absolutely delicious new twist to the traditional peanut butter cookies, though they look almost exactly the same.

What are Almond Butter Blossoms Recipes?
Almond Butter Blossoms Recipes are a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of chocolate, almond, and peanut butter. These cookies are traditionally made with a peanut butter base, topped with a Hershey's Kiss. However, almond butter blossoms are a variation of the classic peanut butter cookie, using almond butter in place of peanut butter.History of Almond Butter Blossoms Recipes
The tradition of making blossom cookies began in the early 1900s, when Hershey's started to publish recipes on their chocolate wrappers. The original recipe, which called for a peanut butter cookie dough and a Hershey's Kiss on top, quickly became a classic. Almond butter blossoms recipes didn't gain attention until the 21st century, when more people started to look for alternative nut butters. The popularity of almond butter led to the creation of this variation on the classic recipe. Today, almond butter blossoms are enjoyed by many as a tasty and slightly healthier alternative to the traditional peanut butter version.Ingredients
Almond butter blossoms recipes typically include the following ingredients:- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for rolling
- 36 Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
Preparation
To prepare almond butter blossoms recipes, follow these steps:- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, almond butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Form the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them in the granulated sugar. Place the balls on the baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are set and lightly browned around the edges.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Variations
While almond butter blossoms recipes are a delicious variation on the classic peanut butter blossoms, there are several ways to switch up the recipe and create unique flavors. Here are some variations to try:- Swap out the Hershey's Kiss for a chocolate truffle, almond toffee, or a seasonal candy such as a candy cane or pumpkin-shaped candy.
- Add chopped almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts to the cookie dough for a nuttier flavor and crunch.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies after they have cooled for an extra decadent touch.
- Replace the almond butter with another nut butter, such as cashew or hazelnut.
- Roll the cookie dough in powdered sugar or cocoa powder instead of granulated sugar for a slightly different texture.
