Time 4h30m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup finely ground almonds
1 heaping tablespoon brown sugar
Pinch salt
1/2 pound cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
5 to 6 tablespoons ice water
Bag of dried beans
3 pints blackberries
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Pinch salt
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, small cubes
Juice 3 lemons
1 tablespoon finely chopped lemon zest
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Steps:

  • For Crust: In large mixing bowl, mix the flour, ground almonds, brown sugar and salt together. Rub the butter pieces into the flour mixture. Add the ice water and gently knead until dough comes together. Wrap in plastic and form in flat disc about 1-inch thick. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Sprinkle flour on the countertop and roll out the dough to an even thickness, round shape. Place dough round in a 10-inch tart pan with removable bottom. Fold any edges inside, forming a thicker crust. Leave the dough a bit longer than the edges of the tart pan to allow for shrinking during cooking. Line the inside of the crust with parchment paper or foil. Pour in the beans, filling to the edges. Bake about 20 minutes, or until bottom begins to look cooked. Let cool. Remove the beans and foil.
  • For Tart: Toss the berries with the flour, salt, sugar, butter, and lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir in the brown sugar. Place the fruit in a saute pan over medium heat and cook just until a sauce is formed. Place the fruit in the baked crust and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the fruit bubbles and juice thickens.
  • Remove from oven and cool for 2 hours before slicing.

Almond blackberry tart is a perfect dessert for any occasion, and it is loved by everyone. It is easy to make and requires only a few ingredients. However, there are a few tips and tricks that you should keep in mind while making an almond blackberry tart. In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips that will help you make a delicious and perfect almond blackberry tart.

Tips:

Choosing the right ingredients:
The first and most important tip to make a perfect almond blackberry tart is choosing the right ingredients. Make sure to use fresh and high-quality ingredients to get the best possible taste. Use good quality almond flour, fresh blackberries, unsalted butter, and sugar. Low-quality ingredients can affect the taste and texture of your tart.
Use chilled butter:
While making the tart crust, make sure to use chilled butter instead of room temperature butter. Cold butter will help to create a flaky and crispy crust. Cut the butter into small cubes and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to use it.
Bake the crust before adding the filling:
To avoid a soggy crust, it is essential to bake the crust before adding the filling. Blind bake the crust for 10-12 minutes, and then add the filling. Blind baking the crust will help to create a crispy and golden-brown crust.
Avoid overfilling:
Overfilling the tart can cause it to collapse or become soggy. Make sure to fill the tart with a thin layer of filling, leaving some space for blackberries. Adding too many blackberries can cause the tart to become overly juicy and collapse.
Bake at the right temperature:
Baking the tart at the right temperature is very important. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) before placing the tart inside. Bake the tart for 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
Cool the tart before serving:
Once the tart is baked, let it cool completely before serving. Cooling the tart will help to set the filling and give it the right texture. Serve the tart with whipped cream or ice cream on top.
Experiment with different toppings:
While blackberries are the perfect topping for almond blackberry tart, you can experiment with other toppings as well. Try using raspberries or blueberries instead of blackberries. You can also add some chopped nuts on top for an extra crunch.
Storage:
Almond blackberry tart can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Cover the tart with plastic wrap or foil before storing it in the fridge. Before serving, let the tart come to room temperature for 15-20 minutes.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, almond blackberry tart is a delicious dessert that can be easily made at home. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that your almond blackberry tart turns out to be perfect every time. Remember to use fresh and high-quality ingredients, blind bake the crust, avoid overfilling, and bake at the right temperature. With these tips, you will be able to make a tasty and beautiful almond blackberry tart that everyone will love.
