Time 52m

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 pork chops, 5 oz each (boneless preferred)
1 1/2 c Italian seasoned Panko bread crumbs
3 Tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated
buttermilk
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
olive oil spray

Steps:

  • 1. Wash the pork chops.
  • 2. Pat pork chops dry with a paper towel.
  • 3. Place pork chops in a resealable container and pour buttermilk over the pork chops. Let them soak for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • 4. In a flat dish, mix the Panko crumbs and Parmesan.
  • 5. Take pork chop out and let the buttermilk drip off.
  • 6. Sprinkle the pork chops, evenly, with the salt and pepper.
  • 7. One at a time, place the pork chops into the Panko mixture. Then cover each pork chop with the crumbs. Firmly press the crumbs so they stick to the pork chop very well. Set the breaded chops on a pan, lined with parchment paper, until ready to air fry.
  • 8. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
  • 9. Remove the preheated air fryer basket and lightly spray with olive oil spray.

  • 11. Air fry the pork chops at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.
  • 12. Then, carefully open the air fryer and flip the pork chops.
  • 13. Lightly spray the tops of the pork chops with olive oil spray.

Air Fried Pork Chops Recipes

What is air frying?
Air frying is a cooking method that uses high heat and circulated air to cook food, resulting in crispy and delicious dishes without the excess oil and grease associated with traditional frying methods. Air frying is an incredibly versatile way of cooking, and pork chops are just one of many dishes that can be cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Why air fry pork chops?
Pork chops are a classic dish enjoyed by many, but they can be tricky to cook perfectly. Overcooking can result in tough and dry meat, while undercooking can lead to health risks. Air frying is a perfect solution for cooking pork chops because it allows for an evenly cooked and tender piece of meat without the need for excessive oil.
How to prepare the pork chops?
Before cooking pork chops, they should be thoroughly defrosted if frozen. After this, the pork chops should be patted dry with kitchen paper to remove any excess moisture. Seasoning the meat with salt, pepper, and herbs or spices is a great way to add flavor. Pork chops can be marinated with ingredients such as garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and paprika for even more deliciousness.
How to air fry pork chops?
Cooking pork chops in an air fryer is a simple process. First, preheat the air fryer to the desired temperature, typically between 350 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the seasoned pork chops into the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap. Cook the pork chops for around 12-15 minutes, flipping the chops over halfway through cooking. The internal temperature should reach at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring the pork chops are fully cooked.
Variations of air fried pork chop recipes
Air fried pork chops can be enjoyed in many ways, and there are numerous variations to choose from. Some ideas include: - Lemon and herb pork chops: Season the pork chops with fresh herbs such as thyme and rosemary, along with lemon zest and garlic for zesty and aromatic flavor. - BBQ pork chops: Marinate the pork chops in BBQ sauce and a mixture of spices such as paprika, garlic, and chili powder for a smoky and spicy taste. - Italian-style pork chops: Season the pork chops with Italian seasoning, garlic, and red pepper flakes for a deliciously savory and spicy meal. - Honey mustard pork chops: Mix honey, mustard, and soy sauce to make a marinade that adds a sweet and tangy flavor to the pork chops. - Garlic and parmesan pork chops: Mix grated parmesan cheese with garlic powder and Italian seasoning to make a crusty and flavorful coating on the pork chops.
Conclusion
Air frying pork chops is a quick and simple way to enjoy this classic dish with a healthier twist. By avoiding the excessive oil and grease associated with traditional frying methods, air frying allows for a crispy and delicious meal that is also healthier. Whether you prefer your pork chops marinated in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, a zesty lemon and herb mix, or a savory Italian-style seasoning, air fried pork chops can be enjoyed in many delicious ways.
Air frying pork chops is a healthy alternative to traditional frying as it requires little oil and can achieve crispy results. However, achieving the perfect air fried pork chop requires some knowledge and technique. In this article, we will provide valuable tips for making air fried pork chops recipes.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Cut of Pork Chop

Selecting the right cut of pork chop is crucial to achieving a juicy and tender pork chop. Choose pork chops that are at least 1 inch thick to ensure that they cook evenly. Pork loin chops, bone-in or boneless, are a good choice for air frying as they have a good amount of fat, which helps keep the meat moist.

Tip 2: Season the Pork Chop

To add flavor to your air fried pork chop, season the meat with a dry rub or marinade. A simple dry rub consists of salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but you can also experiment with other spices such as paprika, cumin, or chili powder. If using a marinade, be sure to pat the pork chop dry before air frying to ensure crispy results.

Tip 3: Preheat the Air Fryer

Preheating the air fryer is essential to achieve consistent cooking results. Most air fryers require a few minutes to preheat to the desired temperature, so be sure to factor this into your cooking time. Preheating also ensures that your pork chop is cooked evenly and reduces the cooking time.

Tip 4: Use a Cooking Spray

Using a cooking spray is essential to prevent the pork chop from sticking to the air fryer basket. Spray the basket with a light coating of cooking spray before placing the pork chop inside. You can also use parchment paper or aluminium foil to line the basket before cooking.

Tip 5: Flip the Pork Chop

To ensure that your air fried pork chop is cooked evenly, flip the meat halfway through the cooking time. This allows each side to cook evenly and prevents one side from becoming overcooked. Use tongs or a spatula to flip the pork chop gently.

Tip 6: Use a Meat Thermometer

Using a meat thermometer is important to ensure that your pork chop is cooked to the correct temperature. The USDA recommends cooking pork to 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the meat to check the temperature. Avoid touching the bone as it can give a false reading.

Tip 7: Rest the Pork Chop

Resting the pork chop after cooking allows the juices to settle, resulting in a more tender and juicy pork chop. Let the meat rest for at least 3-5 minutes before cutting into it. Tent the meat with foil to keep it warm while resting.

Tip 8: Experiment with Different Flavors

Air frying pork chops allows for endless possibilities when it comes to flavors and seasonings. You can experiment with different dry rubs, marinades, and even breading to achieve your desired flavor. Add a touch of sweetness with honey or maple syrup, or spice things up with some hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
Conclusion
Air frying pork chops is a healthy and delicious way to enjoy this classic dish. By following these tips, you can achieve crispy and juicy pork chops every time. Remember to choose the right cut of pork chop, season it well, preheat the air fryer, use a cooking spray, flip the meat, use a meat thermometer, and rest the pork chop before serving. With these valuable tips, you can create a variety of air fried pork chop recipes that will impress your family and friends.
