3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic
½ cup brown sugar
4 bone-in chicken breast halves
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking dish with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • Combine oil and garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat; saute until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Reduce heat, add brown sugar, and stir until liquid, about 3 minutes.
  • Lay chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and pour brown sugar sauce over top. Sprinkle with black pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, about 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

  • Preheat oven to 500°F and lightly grease a casserole dish. In small sauté pan, sauté garlic with the oil until tender. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. 4 chicken thighs

6 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

Steps:

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast-iron skillet or pan over medium-high heat, and add the chicken skin side down.
  • Cook the chicken until it has a dark brown and crispy skin. Flip the chicken and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 5 more minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  • Add the garlic and onion to the remaining chicken fat and cook, stirring frequently until the onions are softened and caramelized.
  • Add the brown sugar, chicken broth, thyme, and parsley and stir to combine. Bring the sauce to a boil and and cook for 1-2 minutes, until slightly reduced.

I found this recipe on SparkRecipes.com and loved it! I didn't see it on here so decided to share it...it's a lower calorie, quick and easy weeknight recipe that we think tastes delicious! I used frozen chicken tenderloins in place of the breasts and it worked out fine!

4 teaspoons unpacked brown sugar
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 garlic clove
2 tablespoons salted butter
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  • Brown the garlic in the butter.
  • Add chicken breasts to garlic and butter and cook thoroughly, adding salt and pepper as you like it.
  • When chicken is fully cooked add brown sugar on top of each breast, or just sprinkle over if using smaller pieces.

2/3 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup lemon-lime soda
2 to 3 tablespoons minced garlic
