1 (19 ounce) package Johnsonville® Mild Italian Sausage Links
1 (16 ounce) package linguine
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced Italian tomatoes
1 (10.5 ounce) can chicken broth
2 cups broccoli florets

Steps:

  • Prepare sausage according to directions. Cool slightly; cut into 1/4-in. slices. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  • In a large saucepan, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until tender. Stir in tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer. Add the broccoli and cooked pasta. Cook until broccoli is tender, about 5 minutes. Add sausage; toss to combine.

Mamma mia! Hamburger Helper® dinner mix makes quick work of a hearty Italian skillet dish accented with three cheeses.

1 pound lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 package (9 ounces) frozen cut green beans
3 3/4 cups hot water
1 package Hamburger Helper™ zesty Italian
1/2 cup reduced-fat small curd creamed cottage cheese
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
2 to 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook beef and garlic in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
  • Rinse beans with cold water to separate. Stir hot water, uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix and beans into beef mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender. Remove from heat and uncover; stir in cottage cheese. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top; cover and let stand 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

While visiting my sister-in-law, we had a delicious Italian soup at a local restaurant. We decided to duplicate it at home and came up with this recipe. The seasonings and types of tomatoes can be varied to suit your family's tastes.

1 pound bulk Italian sausage
3 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Italian diced tomatoes
1 large carrot, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1-1/2 cups cooked elbow macaroni

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. , Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the broth, beans, tomatoes, carrot, jalapeno, Italian seasoning and garlic. , Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until heated through. Just before serving, stir in macaroni.
