WHITE STRAWBERRY-MANGO SANGRIA



White Strawberry-Mango Sangria image

A light, refreshing, and just plain luscious sangria. Perfect for hot summer days!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pint strawberries (hulled and thinly sliced (about 2 cups))
2 medium ripe mangoes (peeled and diced (about 1 1/2 cups)*)
1 lemons (thinly sliced)
1 750 ml bottle white wine (a dry-ish white wine is best - I like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay)
1/2 cup light rum
4 cups lemon-lime soda
Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Add fruit to a large pitcher. Pour the wine and rum over the top.
  • Cover and transfer to the refrigerator. Refrigerate for 4 - 5 hours.
  • Add the lemon-lime soda. Add a few pieces of the fruit to your glass and pour sangria over to serve. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs if desired.

SANGRIA:
1 bottle sparkling wine, chilled
1/2 cup orange liquor
1/2 cup lime-flavored vodka
1 1/4 cup fresh mango & strawberry purée
6 ounces fresh orange juice
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup simple syrup plus 2 tablespoons or to taste
2 cinnamon sticks for garnish
mango diamond chunks for garnish
fresh strawberries, sliced for garnish
orange slices for garnish
lemon slices for garnish
fresh mint sprigs for garnish
MANGO & STRAWBERRY PURÉE:
6 large strawberries
2 tablespoons simple syrup
3/4 cup strained mango purée

Steps:

  • MANGO & STRAWBERRY PURÉE: In a blender or food processor combine strawberries, simple syrup, and strained mango purée and blend until smooth. SANGRIA: Place all ingredients (excluding sparkling wine) into a large glass container, cover and refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, pour into an ice-filled pitcher about 2/3 of the way full. Add fresh sliced fruits and mint and top with sparkling wine, stir gently to mix.

4 oranges, sliced into rounds
2 mangos, peeled and sliced

1/2 cup strawberry schnapps
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
ice
1 whole strawberry (optional)

  • Stir wine, schnapps and sugar together in a 2-quart pitcher'til sugar dissolves.
  • Add sliced strawberries and chill 1 to 4 hours.
