1 (12 ounce) container cottage cheese
1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
1 teaspoon butter
3 1/2 slices bacon (recommend Applewood smoked)
2 cups sour cream
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (Garnish)

Steps:

  • Using cheesecloth, drain the cottage cheese over the sink overnight.
  • When ready to cook, boil a large pot of salted water (2 tsp salt) and add egg noodles. Stir occasionally.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • While egg noodles are boiling, in a skillet cook bacon until crisp. Drain the oil off and then crumble. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the cottage cheese, sour cream and black pepper. When noodles are ready, drain them and then add to mixing bowl. Stir well.
  • Pour mixture into large baking dish, top with crumbled bacon and place in oven. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Serve immediately.
  • Garnish with fresh dill.

1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
3 1/2 slices smoked bacon
2 cups sour cream
1 (12 ounce) container cottage cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly-salted water to a boil, then add pasta & cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain well.
  • In a skilled over medium-high heat, cook bacon until crisp, about 8-10 minutes, then drain, cool & crumble & set aside.
  • In a 2-quart casserole place drained noodles, then stir sour cream into the noodles.
  • Spoon cottage cheese evenly over the top of the noodle mixture & sprinkle crumbled bacon over the top of that. Season to taste with salt.
  • Bake 3-5 minutes or until cottage cheese softens.
