2 cups onions, chopped
1/4 cup butter
2 (6 1/4 ounce) cans tuna, drained and flaked
1 3/4 cups cheese, shredded
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
1 cup Bisquick baking mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Grease baking dish.
  • Cook and stir onions and butter in skillet over low heat until onions are light brown. Sprinkle tuna, 1 cup of the cheese and the onions in baking dish.
  • Beat eggs, milk, baking mix, salt and pepper until well blended.
  • Pour into baking dish.
  • Bake 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheese to within 1 inch from edge. Bake 5 to 8 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. The pie can be done even though some melted cheese adheres to knife.

1 can(s) (7 oz).water pack tuna - drained
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c celery - sliced thin
1/2 c bisquick
1 c milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
tomato slices

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray.
  • 2. In small bowl, break up tuna with fork, stir in celery and onion. Spread in pie plate, then sprinkle cheese on top. For variety, you can use grated swiss instead of cheddar. Or a half 'n half mixture of the two.
  • 3. Mix Bisquick, milk, eggs and salt until smooth, then pour it over tuna mixture and cheese. Garnish with tomato slices. (A sprinkle of parsley flakes looks nice, too.)
  • 4. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let set for five minutes before you slice and serve. .A dollop of ranch dip is good as a topper.

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
6 ounces mushrooms, chopped
4 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 1/2 cups)
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring often, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they've released and absorbed most of their juices, about 5 minutes.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine the tuna and mayo, breaking up the tuna. Stir in the onion-mushroom mixture, then stir in two-thirds of the cheese.
  • 3. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour and butter; stir in the tuna mixture. Transfer to a 10" deep-dish pie pan and bake until browned, about 35 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and broil until the cheese has melted.
  • *One thing I would add is a thinly sliced layer of tomatoes on top, then top that with the remaining cheddar cheese. It just doesn't seem like a tuna melt without the tomatoes!

1 cup water
3 eggs large
3/4 cup buttermilk baking mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (6 1/2-ounce) can tuna chunk white packed in water, drained and flaked
4 to 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese shredded (1 to 1 1/2 cups)
1 cup peas thawed and drained

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. Lightly grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate.Place water, eggs, baking mix, salt, and pepper in a blender container. Cover and blend at high speed 15 seconds, scraping down sides after 10 seconds. Pour batter into pie plate. Sprinkle tuna, cheese, and peas over batter. Using a fork, gently press tuna, cheese, and peas into batter.Bake 35 to 40 minutes until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
