1 ¾ cups white sugar
8 cups water
1 ½ cups lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  • Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.

The name says it all! Takes some effort but well worth it. The recipe comes from Always in Season by the Junior League of Salt Lake City.

6 juicy lemons
1 cup sugar
6 cups water

Steps:

  • Scrub the lemons well and cut into halves. Place into a large heat resistant pitcher. Add the sugar.
  • Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Pour it over the lemons, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Cool for 20 minutes. Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the pitcher and discard the lemons. Strain the lemonade into another pitcher and chill until serving time.
  • Serve over ice in tall glasses with a garnish of mint. Add a dash of grenadine for pink lemonade.

This is delicious. It takes very little time to make and it is really worth it. Most lemonades are very sweet and you can't usually taste the lemony flavor, but this is all lemon!!!!!

1 cup sugar
8 cups ice water
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Squeeze juice from lemons into a bowl. Set lemon rinds aside; strain lemon juice into a large pitcher.
  • Add sugar and ice water; stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Set aside. Place lemon rinds in a bowl and add boiling water. Let stand until water is cold. Discard rinds, add water to picher and stir well. Refrigerate until well chilled.
