4 bacon strips, chopped
1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
4 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a 10-in. cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Cook and stir mushrooms, onion and garlic in bacon drippings until tender, 4-5 minutes. Remove from pan. In a small bowl, whisk eggs until blended. Pour eggs into same pan; cook and stir over medium heat until eggs are thickened and no liquid egg remains. Remove from pan. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk; stir just until moistened. Gently stir in mushroom mixture, eggs, bacon and cheese. Drop dough by 1/2 cupfuls 1 in. apart into same skillet. Bake until bottoms are golden brown, 20-25 minutes.

1 tube(s) texas-style refrigerated biscuit dough (the big 'uns)
8 eggs
1/2 c real bacon bits
1/2 c sharp cheddar cheese , grated
diced scallions
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Lightly spray a standard-sized muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2. Open the tube o biscuit dough, and press one biscuit round into the muffin tin.
  • 3. To make sure there is room for the eggs, make sure you make a deep well in your dough by pressing the biscuit all the way up the sides of each muffin cup
  • 4. Crack an egg into each biscuit, top with bacon bits, cheddar, and scallions.
  • 5. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.
  • 6. Bake in an oven preheated to 400 degress for 13-15 minutes.
  • 7. To ensure the center of your egg stays soft-cooked, remove the biscuits from the oven as soon as the edges begin to turn golden brown.

2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable shortening

1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder

2 fresh beef briskets (3-1/2 pounds each)
1 bottle (10 ounces) Heinz 57 steak sauce
1/2 cup liquid smoke
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. With a fork or sharp knife, prick holes in briskets. Rub meat with seasoning mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Preheat oven to 325°. Place briskets, fat sides up, in a roasting pan.
