½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon grainy mustard
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon celery seed
½ teaspoon black pepper
4 cups cabbage (shredded)
2 tart apples (cored julienned (or shredded))
1 cup carrots (shredded)

Steps:

  • Combine dressing ingredients in a small bowl & set aside
  • Toss with slaw ingredients
  • Allow to sit for at least 1 hour before serving

1 small head cabbage, cored and finely chopped
1 Granny Smith apple, cut into matchstick-size pieces
5 green onions, thinly sliced
½ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup white sugar
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Toss cabbage, apple, and onions together in a large bowl.
  • Whisk vinegar, sugar, olive oil, vegetable oil, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes together in a saucepan over medium heat; bring dressing to a simmer. Pour hot dressing over cabbage mixture and toss to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until flavors blend and slaw is cold, at least 1 hour.

1/2 medium head cabbage, finely shredded
2 crisp unpeeled medium apples, shredded
1 medium carrot, peeled and grated
3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1/4 cup fat-free mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
BURGERS:
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Combine first five ingredients; remove 1/4 cup cabbage mixture and reserve. Add mayonnaise, lime zest, lime juice, pepper and salt to remaining cabbage mixture, tossing well to coat. Refrigerate, covered, until burgers are grilled., For burgers, gently combine beef and reserved cabbage mixture. Mix lightly but thoroughly; shape into four patties. Season with salt and pepper., Grill burgers, covered, on a greased grill rack over medium-high direct heat 5-7 minutes on each side until a thermometer reads 160°. Grill buns just until toasted, about 1 minute. To serve, place a burger and 1/4 cup apple slaw on each bun bottom; replace tops. Serve with remaining slaw.,
