INCREDIBLY MOIST APPLE BREAD
I was first introduced to this wonderful Apple Bread from a co-worker more than 20 years ago! I just recently begged her to bring me the recipe so I could make it. She said she has kept it "posted" on her refrigerator for all of these years and still makes it all the time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Steps:
- Heat over to 350 and grease and flour loaf pan.
- Cream together the 1 cup sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt until smooth.
- Stir in apples and nuts and spread in pan.
- Mix the 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over batter.
- Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 50-60 minutes.
- Immediately remove from pan; cool bread completely before slicing.
- Store tightly covered. Makes 1 loaf.
- Note: Unbleached flour can be used in this recipe; if using self-rising flour, omit baking powder, baking soda and salt.

I was given this recipe years ago by my friend Debbie. I've had it written down on a torn piece of paper for years and decided today that this recipe needs to be on AllRecipes. It is a moist, sweet, and delicious bread with a crispy crust. By far my favorite bread recipe!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a loaf pan.
- Beat eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl; add apples.
- Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a separate bowl; add to apple mixture and stir just until evenly combined into a thick batter. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Cover loaf pan with aluminum foil; continue baking until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 15 minutes more. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Line 2 greased 8x4-in. loaf pans with parchment; grease paper., Whisk together first 6 ingredients. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, oil and vanilla; add to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened (batter will be thick). Fold in apples and walnuts. , Transfer to prepared pans. - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8 x 5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
- Whisk eggs and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk in melted butter and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
- Stir in all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt just until combined. The batter will be very thick. Fold in chopped apples.
- Add half of the batter to the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle about three quarters of the brown sugar mixture on top of the batter.
- Spread the remaining batter carefully on top of the brown sugar mixture. Sprinkle remaining brown sugar mixture on top and use a knife or spoon to gently swirl it into the top layer.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until lightly golden on top and an inserted toothpick comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs. (If bread is browning too quickly, tent with foil for the last 10 to 15 minutes.)
- Let bread cool completely before slicing and serving.

- In a large mixing bowl, beat together granulated sugar, sour cream, eggs and vanilla on low speed with an electric mixer until combined.
- Beat on medium speed for two minutes.
- Sift together dry ingredients, in separate bowl.
- Add to sour cream mixture, beat on low speed until combined.
- Stir in apples.
- Turn into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

AWESOME APPLE BREAD
This bread is so moist and flavorful that my kids even eat the ends, which for most quick breads I usually have to throw away. At Christmas, I make the mini loaves and give as gifts to my neighbors. The oil can be replaced with 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce. Still flavorful but not quite as moist. If possible, don't skip the walnuts, they really add to it.

Steps:
- Combine and set aside the oil, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
- Sift flour, cinnamon, soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to oil mixture gradually.
- Add apples and nuts.
- Bake in 2 regular loaf pans or 3 foil loaf pans for 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.
- Cool 10 minutes in the pan.
- Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
- Note: I bake it at 325 degrees for about 70 minutes.
