STRING CHEESE STICKS WITH DIPPING SAUCE



String Cheese Sticks with Dipping Sauce image

Enjoy these string cheese sticks made using Original Bisquick® mix - appetizer that's ready in 20 minutes!

2 1/4 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
2/3 cup milk
1 package (8 oz) plain or smoked string cheese
1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix and milk until soft dough forms; beat 30 seconds with spoon. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; gently roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 10 times.
  • Roll dough into 12x8-inch rectangle, 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 8 (6x2-inch) rectangles. Roll each rectangle around 1 piece of cheese. Pinch edge into roll to seal; seal ends. Roll on surface to completely enclose cheese sticks. On ungreased cookie sheet, place sticks seam sides down.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, heat pizza sauce over low heat until warm. In small bowl, mix butter and garlic powder; brush over warm cheese sticks before removing from cookie sheet. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.

From Betty Crocker Quick & Easy. Dip these in pizza sauce, salsa, or spaghetti sauce that has been warmed up.

2 1/4 cups Bisquick baking mix
2/3 cup milk
8 sticks mozzarella string cheese
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Stir bixquick and milk until soft dough forms and then beat 30 seconds with a spoon.
  • Place dough on flat surface that has been sprinkled with dry bisquick mix.
  • Roll the dough around to coat it and knead 10-12 times.
  • Roll the dough to 1/4" thick.
  • Cut into 8 rectangles about 6x2 each.
  • Put cheese sticks onto each dough cut-out, and roll the dough around it.
  • Pinch edge into roll to seal, seal edges and gently roll back and forth to further seal.
  • Place sticks on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Mix butter and garlic and brush it over the cheese sticks once you remove them from the oven.

1 tablespoon margarine or butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (8-ounce) can pizza sauce, heated

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 450°. Stir Bisquick and milk until soft dough forms beat 30 seconds. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick gently roll in Bisquick to coat. Shape into a ball knead 10 times.2. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into eight 6 x 2-inch rectangles. Roll each rectangle around 1 piece of cheese. Pinch edge into roll to seal seal ends. Roll on surface to completely enclose cheese sticks. Place seam sides down on ungreased cookie sheet. 3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Mix margarine and garlic powder brush over warm cheese sticks before removing from cookie sheet. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.
