Steps:
- Rinse and drain strawberries, then pour them into a large bowl or container.
- Pour the bubbly wine over the strawberries, adding enough so that they're submerged. Cover and let the strawberries soak in the fridge for at least 1 hour, or overnight.
- Pour cane sugar into a bowl or onto a plate.
- Remove the strawberries from the fridge. One by one, pat the strawberries dry, coat in the organic cane sugar, and place on a serving plate.
- Enjoy immediately! The berries will get soggy if they sit for a couple of hours.
FRESH STRAWBERRIES WITH SWEET SOUR CREAM AND RED WINE SAUCE
Steps:
- In a large saucepan add red wine, sugar, orange peel and orange-flavored liqueur. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes over low-heat until slightly syrupy and liquid has reduced by half. Set aside and cool in the refrigerator. Strain.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream with confectioners' sugar. Take a large platter and make a smear of the sweet sour cream. Arrange the strawberries with the bottoms down in the sour cream. Pour over the red wine sauce and dust the entire plate with confectioners' sugar.

STRAWBERRIES AND WINE
Wonderful dessert that is light and refreshing. The strawberries marinate in the wine for hours producing a strawberry flavor wine at the bottom of the bowl that everyone will be fighting for. Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of the berries you have. Great way to dress up not-too-sweet strawberries! Champagne may be substituted for the wine.
