Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups dry white wine, chilled
1/2 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups club soda, chilled
2 cups champagne

Steps:

  • In a pitcher, combine wine, strawberries and sugar. Refrigerate at least 1 hour., Just before serving, stir in club soda and champagne.

GZ'S RED SANGRIA

Yield About 9 cups

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 bottles fruity red wine, such as Beaujolais
1 cup orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
1 cup brandied pitted cherries
1 cup sliced fresh peaches or nectarines
1 cup fresh raspberries
1/4 cup elderflower liqueur, such as St-Germain
Zest of 1 lemon
1/2 bottle cava
Fresh mint or basil sprigs, for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine the wine, orange liqueur, cherries, peaches, raspberries, elderflower liqueur and lemon zest in a large-mouth glass bowl or cruet. Stir gently with a wooden spoon, then refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Just before serving, pour in the cava and stir very gently. Put large ice cubes in glasses, ladle the sangria into the glasses and garnish with fresh mint or basil sprigs.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 ounces gin, such as Plymouth
1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows
1/4 ounce Green Chartreuse
2 dashes orange bitters
Grapefruit peel twist, for garnish
1 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Put the gin, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, Simple Syrup, Chartreuse and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker, add large ice and shake vigorously. Double-strain into a Nick and Nora glass (or other cocktail glass) and garnish with a grapefruit peel twist.
  • Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator up to 1 month.

1 1/2 cups red or white wine
3/4 cup orange juice (no pulp)
1/3 cup triple sec
1/3 cup apricot brandy
1/3 cup Sprite
1 apple, cored and diced
1 cup red or green (or mixed) grapes
1/2 small cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced
4-5 ice cubes

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Stir with a wooden spoon and serve.
