Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 (9 ounce) bottle pale ale
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 scallions, thinly sliced including green part
10 ounces jalapenos, finely chopped
1 tablespoon melted butter

Steps:

  • Sift teh flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the beer and mix well.
  • Add the cheese, scallions, and jalapenos and mix well.
  • The batter will be stiff.
  • Spoon evenly into a greased 9x5 loaf pan and brush the top with the melted butter.
  • Bake at 300º for 45 minutes or until browned.
  • Remove from oven to cool and cut into 1/4 inch slices when ready to serve.
  • To serve, arrange the slices on a baking sheet and broil for 1 minute or until brown.

This Beer Bread is a crazy easy bread recipe that is made with crisp bacon, fresh jalapenos and tasty cheddar. It is perfect for sandwiches, chili, soup, stew, or just because you love bread. For an extra special treat toast a slice and lather on some real cream butter.

3 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons sugar
6 slices crispy cooked bacon coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons jalapeno pepper finely minced
2 1/4 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 beer (12 ounce) at room temperature
3 tablespoons butter melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • In large bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, cumin, sugar, bacon, jalapeno pepper and cheddar cheese. Pour beer over mixture and mix just until combined. Do not over mix. Spoon into loaf pan. Pour melted butter over bread.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until set and lightly browned. Remove from the pan and allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting into the loaf.

Yield 1 loaf (12 slices).

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 ounces Jarlsberg or Swiss cheese
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 bottle (12 ounces) beer or nonalcoholic beer
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Divide cheese in half. Cut half into 1/4-in. cubes; shred remaining cheese. In a large bowl, combine next 5 ingredients. Stir beer into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in cubed and shredded cheese., Transfer to a greased 8x4-in. loaf pan. Drizzle with butter. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 50-60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
