RIPE BANANA--SNOWBALL SALAD

Ripe Banana--Snowball Salad image

I was searching for something to do with my over-ripened bananas and came across this one from my husband's Oklahoman grandmother (one of the few dessert salads from Texhoma that doesn't involve jell-o!). I ended up making something else, but am collecting and freezing bananas to try this one. It looks tasty and super simple. Cook time is freezing.

SNOWBALL FROZEN SALAD

Snowball Frozen Salad image

This is a recipe that I always make for winter holidays. It's great that you can make it weeks ahead & put it in the freezer.

2 large cool whip
1 pt sour cream

3/4 c chopped maraschino cherries

4 large bananas, mashed
1 large can crushed pineapple , drained
1 c pecans, in pieces

Steps:

  • 1. Mash bananas & spoon the lemon juice over them
  • 2. Add all remaining ingredients & mix well. At this point, you can add more sugar, cherries, etc
