SICILIAN STEAK (BISTECCA ALLA SICILIANA)
I found this recipe in the "Authentic Italian Recipes Cookbook", compiled by The Christopher Columbus Ladies Auxiliary of San Antonio, Texas. My husband loves this steak! It's a nice change from the normal way we grill our steaks. I serve it with either Fettuccini Alfredo or baked potatoes.

Steps:
- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a broiler pan.
- Stir the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt, and garlic powder together in a shallow dish such as a pie plate. Pour the olive oil into a separate shallow dish. Dip the t-bone steaks in the olive oil on both sides; allow excess to drip off. Press the steaks into the bread crumb mixture, and place onto the prepared broiler pan.
- Bake on the middle rack in the preheated oven until the steaks have cooked to your desired degree of doneness, about 15 minutes for medium. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium.

ITALIAN STEAK SANDWICHES
My sister came up with these quick sandwiches that use minced garlic and other seasonings to bring pizzazz to deli roast beef. Add some carrot sticks or a tomato salad for a fantastic lunch in no time. -Maria Regakis, Somerville, Massachusetts

SICILIAN STEAK
Got this while going through a bag of old recipes. The recipe didn't specify the size round steak, but I used a 1 lb steak and had extra breading, so I'd guess about 1 3/4-2lb would work with the bread crumb mix. The round steak came out nice and tender.

THE SICILIAN ITALIAN SANDWICH
I was inspired to transform a ham sandwich into something wonderful using the Italian flavors I grew up with after reading a post I saw on a Sicilian Facebook group that I belong to. I love this sandwich cold but if it is a chilly winter day and you want something to warm your belly, you can wrap this sandwich in tinfoil and...

Steps:
- 1. Cut the radicchio in half and place it on a sheet of tinfoil. Drizzle it with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in the oven under the broiler, turning frequently, until it is slightly charred on all sides. Remove from the oven and cut into thin slices. Set aside.
- 2. Mix the ricotta, lemon zest and 1 tbsp of olive oil in a bowl. Set aside.
- 3. With a serrated knife, cut the bread length wise then into sandwich size portions. You can go big or small depending on if it is going to be an appetizer plate of sandwiches or if you are serving a sandwich for lunch. Brush the bread with olive oil and place under the broiler until desired toastyness.
- 4. To make this sandwich, begin by placing a schmear of the cheese mixture on the bottom half of each sandwich (you are going to add more on top!). Then layer each sandwich with the ham, prosciutto, radicchio and parsley. Place a heaping tablespoon, or more depending on the size of your bread, of the cheese mixture on each top half. Spoon a generous helping of the fig marmalade on top of the cheese. Place the top half of the sandwich on the bottom and push down slightly. I know, your mouth is watering right now. Believe me it should be! It is that good.
