3/4 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1-1/2 cups leftover or refrigerated mashed potatoes, warmed

Steps:

  • In an ovenproof skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in water and taco seasoning; heat through. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese. , Combine potatoes and remaining cheese; spread over beef. Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
Hot water and milk called for on Hamburger Helper box
1 box Hamburger Helper™ Salisbury
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
Betty Crocker™ mashed potatoes for 6 servings
Water, milk and butter called for on mashed potatoes box for 6 servings
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (1 oz)
Chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until brown; drain. Stir in hot water, milk, sauce mix and uncooked pasta (from Hamburger Helper box) and thawed vegetables. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta and vegetables are tender. Remove from heat.
  • Meanwhile, make potatoes as directed on box for 6 servings. Spoon and gently spread mashed potatoes over pasta mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover; let stand about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with parsley.

2 cups cooked chicken, and cubed
1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables, thawed and drained
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns, ground fine
4 cups hot mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, combine all the ingredients except the potatoes over high heat; mix well.
  • Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, or until heated through, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from the heat and dollop with the potatoes.
  • Serve immediately.
  • You can use prepackaged chicken and potatoes.

1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2-1 cup frozen corn, thawed
1/2-1 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup sour cream
3 1/2 cups mashed potatoes, prepared
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook the beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink: drain.
  • Stir in the corn, peas, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, dissolve bouillon in boiling water. Combine corn starch and sour cream until smooth: stir into beef mixture. Add bouillon. Spread mashed potatoes over the top; sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook until potatoes are heated and cheese is melted.
