This is an easy way to serve great vegetables with your meal. Green beans are stir fried in vegetable oil and soy sauce, then sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds to create this surprisingly easy, tasty, and impressive side dish.

⅔ cup sesame seeds
⅓ cup vegetable oil
3 (10 ounce) packages frozen green beans, thawed
⅓ cup soy sauce
black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Toast sesame seeds in a large dry skillet over medium heat until they turn golden brown. Spread out onto a plate and allow to cool.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add green beans and soy sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until the beans are hot and tender, about 10 minutes. Season with black pepper to taste, and toss with toasted sesame seeds.

3 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons Champagne vinegar
2 tablespoons tahini
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 pound green beans, trimmed
-- Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Instructions: Preheat the oven to 450° and place a rack to the top position. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, stir together the garlic, oil, vinegar, tahini, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes. Add the green beans and toss until evenly coated. Season with salt and black pepper. Spread the beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast, tossing occasionally, until tender and lightly browned, about 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
