We love using this delicious blend to season chicken or vegetables before grilling. Makes enough to store and use later. Sprinkle over meat or vegetables and grill.

¼ cup kosher salt
4 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon ground red pepper

Steps:

  • Stir salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper in an airtight container, seal, and shake to combine.

Ramp Sea Salt image

Double or triple this recipe if you have enough ramp leaves. A wonderful seasoning that has the flavor of spring and will last long after ramps are out of season.

4 bunches ramps leaves, rinsed and dried
½ cup sea salt

Steps:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Chop ramp leaves roughly and place them in the bowl of a food processor. Process until finely chopped, then transfer to a bowl. Add salt and mix very well.
  • Spread the green, wet salt thinly on the prepared baking sheet. Allow to air dry, stirring a turning occasionally with clean hands or a spoon. Depending on the humidity it may take up to 24 hours. Once salt is completely dry, store in an airtight container.

1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon marjoram
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until herbs are finely ground and well combined. Store in tightly covered jar on pantry shelf for up to 6 months.
