Zesty Lemon Sauce image

This sauce goes great on gingerbread or pound cake.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 c butter or margarine
2 Tbsp grated lemon zest
1 can(s) (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in lemon zest and cook 2 minutes.
  • 2. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Gradually add lemon juice, whisking constantly. Cook and package into jars.
