Steps:
- 1. Spray round baking dish with nonstick vegetable cooking spray.2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, bran, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt.3. Make a well in the middle and pour in the buttermilk and oil. Mix quickly with a rubber scraper until flour disappears, folding dough with a kneading motion.4. Shape a round loaf slightly domed in the middle, about 6 1/2 inch in diameter. Place in baking dish. With a knife, cut a cross on the top from one side of the loaf to the other (to help prevent bread from cracking).5. Bake at 425°F for 25 minutes. Lower the heat to 350°F for 10 minutes longer or turn heat off and finish cooking on heat stored in oven.
