Watergate salad image

This recipe came about in the 1970s. It was created by Kraft and called the Pistachio Pineapple Delight. At a later date, a Chicago newspaper editor reprinted the recipe & renamed it "Watergate Salad" & this new name stuck. It is suggested that the editor was referring to the "mess" of the scandal, as well as the fact that it's "nutty". Either way it's a family favorite that is sure to please! It's super easy, and adjustable. It can be served as a salad or a dessert!
