Vidalia Onion Pie image

This recipe was in the Las Vegas Review Journal to help promote the sale of Vidalia Onions by the Shriners Club of Las Vegas. This recipe was adapted from Folsom Farms in Glennville, GA.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 unbaked pie shell
3 tablespoons butter
3 medium vidalllia sweet onions, sliced
2 eggs
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prick pie crust with a fork.
  • Melt butter and saute onions until tender, then place in pie crust.
  • Mix together remaining ingredients except the bacon and spread over the onions.
  • Bake 30 50 c5 minutes.
  • Top with bacon and serve.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
