"GORP" - more commonly known as Trail Mix - is considered an ideal snack food for hikes, because it is tasty, lightweight, easy to store & nutritious! It provides a quick boost from the carbohydrates in the dried fruit &/or granola - plus sustained energy from the mono & polyunsaturated fats in nuts.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, add dry ingredients (chop up larger pieces of fruits & nuts); mix well.
- Melt chips or morsels in top of double boiler, stir in honey or molasses & pour over cereals, fruits & nuts; mix well.
- Then press or pour onto buttered cookie sheets. Cool, then cut into 2" x 4" chunks. Wrap in plastic or foil or place in single serve baggies.
