Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine pears, half the sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and Grand Marnier; mix well. In a separate bowl, combine remaining sugar and butter; cream until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg and the yolk of the other egg and mix well. Sift remaining flour with baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add flour mixture in halves to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Set mixture aside to rest for 30 minutes, divided into 2 quantities, one being slightly larger than the other. Butter a 9-inch round cake pan and turn the larger quantity of batter into the cake pan. Put the pears on top of the batter and top with remaining batter. Press lightly down in between pears. Sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake for about 45 minutes. Cool before serving.
