Toll House Pie, Sandy's image

My mother in law made this absolutely fantastic pie on our last Sunday dinner (Father's Day 2017), and it was so good I immediately asked for the recipe...literally from my first bite! Hope you enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 eggs
1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 c butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
6 oz package nestle toll house semisweet morsels (1 cup)
1 c chopped walnuts
1 9 inch unbaked pie shell
whipped cream or ice cream, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Add flour and both sugars; beat to blend well. Blend in melted butter. Stir in chips and walnuts.
  • 2. Pour into pie shell (see notes). Bake for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired. Sandy served it at room temperature, without either ice cream or whipped cream.
  • 3. NOTE: If using frozen pie shell, you need the deep dish style, thawed. Place on cookie sheet and bake additional 10 min. You can double the recipe, and freeze one pie for later use...
