Three Meat BBQ Baked Beans image

These are ALWAYS a hit. The slow cooker makes them easy to have ready for a BBQ at home or away. I mix them up the day before and just plug it in day of! I usually make a double or triple batch. They freeze very well so I've got a batch ready for the next BBQ! You can also bake them in a 350 oven, uncovered, for any hour instead of using the slow cooker. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound(s) sliced bacon
1/2 pound(s) ground beef
1/2 pound(s) bulk sausage
1 can(s) baked beans with pork, 15 oz
1 can(s) white beans, 15.5 oz, drained (any white bean will work)
1 can(s) butter beans, 15.5 oz, drained (replace with red kidney beans if necessary)
1 cup(s) dark brown sugar, packed
1 cup(s) bbq sauce
2 tablespoon(s) yellow mustard
1 package(s) onion soup mix
1 dash(es) hot sauce or more to taste (optional)

Steps:

  • Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook and crumble the ground beef and sausage until cooked through. Drain and set aside.
  • Combine the bacon, beef, sausage and all beans in the crock. Stir in the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, mustard, hot sauce (if using) and onion soup until well blended.
  • Cook on low for four hours. You can put the crock in the fridge at this point and cook within 48 hours. You can also cook the beans uncovered in a 350 oven for 1 hour.
