Tartar Sauce image

Here is a tangy homemade alternative to the stuff in the bottle. It comes together in five minutes, and you can follow Julia Child's lead and tart it up with a little mustard, or not. Either way, any fried fish you serve will be much improved by its application.

1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped sweet pickle
2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
A drop or two hot sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • In a bowl, stir together all the ingredients.
