Strawberry Surprise Cake image

2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups strawberries, sliced
3 ounces strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 large eggs, beaten

Steps:

  • Spread marshmallows on the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9" baking pan -- set aside.
  • Combine strawberries and their juices with jello -- set aside.
  • Blend remaining ingredients and pour over marshmallows.
  • Spoon strawberry mixture over the top.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 300° and continue baking for 15 minutes longer.
