Strawberry Ice Cream Topping image

Makes a delicious sauce for ice cream, yogurt, cake etc. Could even be stirred into soda water or milk.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients into a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; let boil for 5-10 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in extract.
  • Puree in blender and strain out seeds, if desired.
