I lost my mothers applesauce cake recipe and now my mother has Alzheimers which she is unable to remember any recipes . I am visiting Nurse took care of a lovely lady who had a recipe for applesauce bread she told me that I will love -it will be just like my mothers. She was right . I have been making it for my family & friends...

Number Of Ingredients 12

Ingredients

2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice, ground
1 1/4 c homade applesauce (or prepared)
1 c sugar
1/2 c vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 Tbsp milk

Steps:

1. separate bowl - mix all dry ingredients first (7) in a mixer bowl next (5) ingredients -mix the dry ingredients into the applesauce mix -beat well
2. top with 1/4 cup of walnuts .1/4 brown sugar , 1/2 tesp. cinnamon -mix together and top the loaf ..bake 350 for 1 hour ..loaf pain 9x5x3
3. make fresh applesauce - peel and place apples in a dish microwave 15-20 mins. then mashed them .
