Spaghetti Pie image

If you love spaghetti, you will love this dish. Sometimes I top it off with shredded parmesan instead of mozzarella. Add salad, garlic bread and a glass of wine..Delizioso!

Number Of Ingredients 13

6 oz spaghetti
2 Tbsp butter
1/3 c grated parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
1 c ricotta cheese
1 lb italian sausage
1/2 c onion, chopped
6 roma tomatoes, chopped
6 oz tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 c mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain, should have about 3 cups. Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Stir in parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10 inch pie plate. Spread ricotta cheese over bottom spaghetti crust.
  • 2. In skillet, cook sausage and onion till meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat through. Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Bake, uncovered, in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese atop. Bake 5 minutes longer or till cheese melts.
