When I was younger and ate red meat, I often asked my grandma for hamburger with the gravy. Ie: Salisbury Steak. Now it isn't often I eat meat, let alone red meat. But when I make this dish, I have a few bites because I cannot deny myself a delicious treat. This recipe is the traditional Salisbury Steak, with a few of my own additions & secret ingredients! Minus the mushrooms. My family doesn't care for them, but feel free to add them if you are a fan! :) This dish goes well with any type of potato, rice, or noodles. A nice fresh crisp salad w/Italian dressing is a compliment.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, celery, diced onions, pepper, & beaten eggs. Mix well. Shape into 10 patties. Lightly Dredge patties in 3 tablespoons of flour.
- In large skillet, heat olive oil on medium heat. Brown patties lightly on both sides. Approximately 3-5 minutes each side. Remove patties from skillet, & set aside. Drain excess fat from skillet, leaving approximately 1/4 cup drippings in skillet.
- Dissolve beef boullions in hot water. Whisk remaining 3 tablespoons flour into drippings in skillet, heat on low-medium whisk until no lumps remain, mixture will be smooth. Gradually add in boullion & water mixture, whisking constantly until smooth & slightly thickened. Stir in ketchup, A1 steak sauce, & liquid smoke. Bring mixture to a boil. Gravy will thicken as it cooks.
- Return patties to skillet, add sliced onions (& mushrooms if adding). Reduce heat, cover & simmer 20-25 minutes or until beef is done, no longer pink.
- Serve with potatoes, noodles, or rice with buttered corn and a fresh tossed salad. Enjoy!
