Slow Cooker Turkey and Brown Rice Chili image

1 Tbsp vegetable oil
3/4 lb ground turkey breast
1 large onion, 1 cup chopped
2 can(s) diced tomatoes, undrained (14 1/2 ounce can)
1 can(s) chili beans (15-16 oz)
1 can(s) old el paso chopped green chilies, drained (4 1/2 oz)
1/2 c water
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp salt
2 c cooked brown rice

Steps:

  • 1. In 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook turkey and onion in oil 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until turkey is no longer pink; drain.
  • 2. In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix turkey mixture and remaining ingredients except rice.
  • 3. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  • 4. Stir in rice. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 15 minutes or until rice is hot.
