Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken image

Easy chicken dish with delicious sauce

Number Of Ingredients 11

6 bone in chicken thighs
1 medium onion diced
4 clove garlic minced
1 c ketchup
1/3 can(s) brown sugar
1 Tbsp each chili powder, lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp cornstarch
3 Tbsp water
fresh basil for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Place onions and garlic in bottom of slow cooker. Arrange the chicken on top. Mix the ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, lemon juice, salt and pepper together and pour over top,
  • 2. Cook on low for 5 hours. Remove the chicken to a serving plate. Place the cooking liquid in a saucepan. Mix the cornstarch and water together.
  • 3. Bring the liquid to a boil. Whisk in the cornstarch mixture to thicken. Serve the sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh basil
