Slow-Cooked Green Beans in the Instant Pot® image

Easy delish green beans with bacon or ham cooked with the slow cooker function of your Instant Pot®.

6 slices bacon, cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
1 large clove garlic, minced
2 pounds fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
1 cup chicken broth
2 teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 sprig fresh thyme

Steps:

  • Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Add bacon and cook until crispy, about 8 minutes. Add onion and garlic; saute, stirring occasionally, until just tender, about 3 minutes. Mix in green beans and saute, stirring often, for 2 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth, salt, pepper and thyme sprig. Close and lock the lid. Select Slow Cooker function and cook until beans are tender, about 6 hours on the Normal setting (Medium) or 3 hours on the High setting (More).
